What is covered under a Home Insurance Package?

  1. Building Section

 It covers residential buildings including landlords' fixtures, fittings, walls, gate, swimming pool and fences, all on the same premises against:

  1. Fire
  2. Natural Risks e.g. earthquake, storm and lightning etc.
  3. Human Risks e.g. riot, strike, and malicious damage.
  4. Explosion of domestic gas cylinders and heaters
  5. Miscellaneous causes e.g. bursting and overflowing of water tanks, pipes and impact by road vehicles and animals.
  6. Contents Section: You can insure the following: -
  7. Furniture, household goods and personal effects of every description
  8. The property of any member of his family normally residing with you.
  9. Fixtures and fittings of the insured's or for which he is legally responsible

 

The property is covered against:

  1. Fire
  2. Theft following forcible entry or exit
  3. Natural Risks e.g., earthquake, storm, and lightning etc.
  4. Human Risks e.g., riot, strike, and malicious damage.
  5. Explosion e.g., explosion of domestic gas cylinders.
  6. Miscellaneous causes e.g., bursting and overflowing of water tanks, pipes and impact by road vehicles and animals.   
  7. All Risks Section

This covers accidental damage and theft to specified portable items which are carried outside the house such as cameras, laptops, radio, jewelry etc.

  1. Wiba Section

This covers domestic servants such as house helps, watchmen, gardeners, and drivers in respect of injury, death or disease arising out of and in the course of employment in accordance with Work Injury Benefit Act.

  1. Owner's/Occupiers' Liability Section

This section covers the homeowner or occupier against legal liability of third parties for accidental bodily injury and accidental loss of or damage to property. Examples include attack by dogs and risks associated with swimming pools majorly drowning.
