Marine and Goods in Transit

Marine cover caters for loss of damage to cargo while in transit either as an import or export. Risks insured include.

  1. Water damage while in high seas
  2. Sinking of the ship and damage to cargo
  3. Damage occasioned by war
  4. Collision of ship
  5. Loading and offloading risks
  6. Concealed damage

Ideally a marine cover should be arranged on a warehouse-to-warehouse basis.

Once goods are received marine cover ceases and any inland movement of the cargo as raw materials or finished products s taken care of by a Good in Transit Cover.

This policy is arranged on all risks basis for any damage to the good arising from accidental damage due to collision or overturning of the conveying vehicle, water damage following accident, damage to loading and offloading risks amongst others.
